Exhibition of five Israeli artists opens in Jerusalem
A group exhibition, Jerusalem of Gold, featuring works by five Israeli artists has opened at the Salon Gallery at the Jerusalem Theatre in Jerusalem, Israel. The exhibition will run until September 30 during the theatre's opening hours, The Jerusalem Post reports.
The exhibition features Aaron Kraus, Maureen Fein, Miriam Yaskerovich-Arman, Daniel Mayer Feder and Orit Simhoni. The project was organized by curator Chaya Gross, owner of Chaya’s Place gallery. According to the publication, she began looking for another accessible venue for artists because light rail construction in the Emek Refaim area had complicated the work of establishments and movement along the main shopping street of the German Colony.
Exhibition participants
Jerusalem artist Aaron Kraus works, among other techniques, by painting in near-total darkness. In this way, he seeks to convey not only the appearance of the city but also his own sense of its holiness, longing and hope. Jerusalem stone occupies an important place in his works, particularly for the way it catches sunlight at dawn and sunset.
Maureen Fein taught watercolor at the Israel Museum for 30 years. She works in oils and watercolor, creating images of Jerusalem, and is also known as a portrait artist. Her works are held, among other places, in the collection of the Israel Museum and in private collections in various countries.

Textiles, glass and the image of Jerusalem
Before moving into art, Orit Simhoni worked as a scientist and earned a doctoral degree in archaeobotany. Color, material and movement are important in her creative process. The artist sometimes sews fabric directly onto canvases, and the image of a faceless female figure recurs in her works.
Daniel Mayer Feder combines texts, color and various images to convey the essence of Jerusalem. She also creates scenes of the city’s everyday life, portraits and still lifes. Miriam Yaskerovich-Arman returned to Israel in 2025 after more than eight years in Italy. She has created hundreds of works, some of which incorporate glass and three-dimensional elements.
The Jerusalem Theatre has eight galleries, and most exhibitions there last about a month.
