Rotaru challenged the amount of her pension in court and filed a lawsuit
Ukrainian singer Aurika Rotaru successfully sought a court order to have her request for a pension recalculation reconsidered after the Pension Fund had denied it.
The artist submitted a salary statement issued by the Dmytro Hnatyuk Chernivtsi Regional Philharmonic to the Pension Fund. The document listed her earnings for the period from 1980 to 1986, but this information was not taken into account when calculating her pension payments.
According to Rotaru, her pension amounts to about 6,000 hryvnias, including a supplement for her title of People’s Artist of Ukraine.
After her request for a recalculation was denied, the singer appealed to the Lviv District Administrative Court, which ordered the Pension Fund to reconsider her application and issue a decision on the merits of the case.
The Pension Fund explained its refusal by citing the need to verify the authenticity of the salary certificate and confirm the information contained therein.
Earlier, Ukrainian singer Sofia Rotaru wished her grandson, Anatoliy Yevdokimenko, a happy birthday. According to media reports, her grandson is currently abroad.
