Video art exhibition to open in Nicosia’s Old City — Cyprus Mail

In Nicosia, Cyprus, the video art exhibition “Objects in the Mirror May Be Closer Than They Appear” will run from October 2 to November 2, 2026. The PSI Foundation project will encompass various locations in the Old City, with the visitor route beginning at The Gym Bar on Onasagorou Street, Cyprus Mail reports.

14 works in urban space

The project is curated by Evagoria Dapola. The exhibition will bring together 14 works by nine artists across a network of spaces on three streets in the Old City. Art studios, architectural offices, former workshops, as well as shop windows, windows, walls and cafés will serve as temporary venues for showing moving images.

The exhibition’s title refers to the inscription on car mirrors stating that objects may be closer than they appear. The project explores distance, images and perception, inviting viewers to look anew at the familiar urban environment. Analogue and digital works of varying scale will become part of the urban space of Nicosia’s Old City.
