In South Korea, The Intern remake tops box office — Korea Herald
The Korean remake of the 2015 Hollywood film The Intern took first place at the South Korean weekend box office. According to the Korea Herald, the film, which opened in theaters on Wednesday, drew 275,186 admissions over the weekend. As of Sunday, the total number of admissions had reached 403,906.
The Korean Film Council compiles its weekend ranking based on data from Friday through Sunday.
New lead actors
Choi Min-sik and Han So-hee played the lead roles in the Korean version. They portrayed Ki-ho and Sun-woo, characters played by Robert De Niro and Anne Hathaway in the original film. The plot tells of the bond between a young entrepreneur and an elderly intern at her fashion startup.

Other box office results
Before the remake's release, Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey had led the box office for several weeks. It drew 256,793 admissions over the weekend, while the film's cumulative total reached 11.2 million.
The horror film Obsession added 131,467 admissions over the weekend, bringing its total to 701,713. Resident Evil: Night Zero, which opened on Thursday, drew 80,779 admissions, while Spider-Man: Brand New Day recorded 33,636.
As of 8:10 a.m. on Monday, the Korean historical thriller The Assassin(s) led advance ticket sales with a 29% share. It was followed by The Odyssey with 22.2%. The final sequel in the crime franchise Tazza, Tazza: Song of Beelzebub, had a 13.9% share and was set to open on Wednesday.
