Artist Skrepetsky, who published cartoons of Kadyrov and Putin, was killed in Poland

Shortly before his death, the murdered performance artist Semyon Skrepetsky continued to publish works in which he mocked Chechnya’s leadership and reported on the threats he had received on social media.

According to information circulating in the media and on social media, Skrepetsky repeatedly posted cartoons, videos, and artwork dedicated to Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov, his son Adam Kadyrov, and the commander of the “Akhmat” special forces unit, Apti Alaudinov.

In particular, two days before his death, the artist published one of his earlier works, in which Ramzan and Adam Kadyrov were depicted in a satirical manner.

Skrepetsky’s posts repeatedly sparked a storm of reactions from social media users. It is reported that in May, his Instagram account was blocked after he attempted to post another work featuring the Chechen leader.

In addition to his artwork, the performance artist regularly posted provocative videos and performances criticizing the Chechen leadership.

A few hours before his death, Skrepetsky shared screenshots of threatening messages which, according to him, were sent after his posts about Ramzan Kadyrov.

According to the Polish TV channel wPolsce24, law enforcement is investigating the possibility that two individuals were involved in the crime.

It is also reported that one of the suspects was allegedly detained near the Belarusian consulate in the city of Biała Podlaska. At the same time, official authorities have not yet released final conclusions regarding the motives for the crime or possible instigators.

According to the Polish publication Podlaski.info, a shooting occurred in the Polish city of Biała Podlaska, resulting in the death of Semen Skrepetsky.

According to local media reports, the incident occurred around 10:00 a.m. on Queen Jadwiga Street near a parking lot. An unknown assailant allegedly opened fire with a pistol at the man and then fled.

Earlier, David Hockney, one of the most famous contemporary British artists, died at the age of 88. The artist left a significant mark on the world of art, and his work was sold at auction in 2018 for a record $90 million.

Meanwhile, a painting by the world-renowned Ukrainian artist Ivan Marchuk set a new personal auction record at the prestigious Sotheby’s auction house. The canvas, titled “Generous Planet,” sold for 96,000 euros. The artist congratulated the new owner of the work and noted that until now, the painting had been in a private collection in the United States.
