The Tartuff Festival opened in Tartu: the screening drew more than 1,200 viewers
The PÖFF Love Film Festival Tartuff, a romantic film festival, opened Saturday evening on Town Hall Square in Tartu, Estonia. The opening film was the Thai movie “Gohan — The White Dog.” Its screening drew a full house—just over 1,200 viewers, according to ERR News.
Tartu Mayor Urmas Klaas recorded a video greeting to mark the festival’s opening. He noted that Tartuff’s heart beats to the rhythm of love, just like the hearts of Tartu’s residents.

On Sunday, the festival program features the romantic musical drama “Żejtune” by Maltese director Alex Camilleri and Pedro Almodóvar’s tragicomedy “Tie Me Up! Tie Me Down!”
All screenings as part of the festival are free. The 21st PÖFF Love Film Festival Tartuff will run through August 15.
