Late-night hosts joke about Trump’s meeting with Xi Jinping — Rolling Stone
American late-night television hosts joked about Donald Trump’s meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping in Washington, United States. As Rolling Stone reports, the comedians focused on the reception for the Chinese leader, the military flyover at the airport, and the state dinner at the White House.
Kimmel and Fallon’s jokes
Jimmy Kimmel, host of Jimmy Kimmel Live, compared Trump’s behavior during the visit to that of a child showing a guest his things. He joked that Trump was leading Xi Jinping around, showing him the gold decor on the walls and the unfinished ballroom.
Kimmel also said that Xi Jinping announced his intention to give the United States two giant pandas. The comedian joked that Trump might eat them. Jimmy Fallon, host of The Tonight Show, jokingly added two Big Macs, a large serving of French fries, and Diet Coke to the state dinner menu.
