Zelenskyy has allocated more than 3.8 million hryvnias in grants to young filmmakers

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has awarded government grants to three young female filmmakers for the creation and production of film projects. The total amount of funding is 3,823,282 UAH.

The largest grant—1,523,500 UAH—was awarded to director Margarita Lukich. The funds will be used to produce the short fiction film “Frank Olia” through Modern Ukrainian Cinema LLC.

Another 1,300,000 UAH was allocated to director Sofia Polishchuk for the short film “Hug Me.” The project will be produced by RIAL PICTURES LLC.

Director Oleksandra Konoplia received 999,782 UAH for the production of the film “My Little Dollhouse.” The film will also be produced by “Modern Ukrainian Cinema” LLC.

The corresponding decree No. 110/2026-rp was published on the President’s official website on September 16.

Ukraine will soon receive $841 million in budget support from the World Bank. The funds will be used to offset state budget expenditures related to pension payments, and the Canadian government will provide financing guarantees.
