Meryem Uzerli, star of *The Magnificent Century*, said she loves Russia and Moscow

Turkish actress Meryem Uzerli, who played Hürrem Sultan in the TV series “The Magnificent Century,” said during an interview with a Russian blogger that she loves Russia, Moscow, and the Russian language.

During the conversation, Uzerli tried to speak Russian and admitted that she had once studied it in school. According to the actress, she has almost forgotten the language, but she can still read Cyrillic.

“I love the Russian language, Moscow, and Russia. I can read in Russian, but, unfortunately, I don’t understand anything,” said Uzerli.

As noted by the media, since the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion, the actress has not made any public statements regarding the war in Ukraine. At the same time, she has been spotted on multiple occasions in Russian media projects and at events attended by representatives of the Russian Federation.
