DTEK Says Ukraine Is Ready for Another Winter
The Ukrainian power grid is entering its fifth winter since the start of the full-scale war in better shape than it was a year ago. At the same time, protection against potential Russian attacks remains the key factor in its stability.
This was announced by DTEK CEO Maksym Timchenko.
According to him, over the past year, energy companies have been restoring damaged capacity, building up necessary reserves, and strengthening the protection of energy infrastructure.
“As a result, Ukraine is entering the winter stronger and better prepared than it was a year ago,” Timchenko noted.
At the same time, he emphasized that even a well-prepared power grid remains vulnerable without effective protection. It is on this protection that the severity of the consequences of potential Russian strikes for the population and the economy will largely depend.
Timchenko also noted that Ukraine continues to build a more resilient power grid. Once the war ends, he estimates, the country could have one of the most modern energy systems in Europe.
