Saudi Arabia suspends operations at some energy facilities after attacks — OilPrice
Saudi Arabia has temporarily suspended some operations at energy facilities in the country’s southern region bordering Yemen following attacks on Tuesday morning. The strikes caused fires at several facilities, and several residents were also injured.
Fires and damage assessment
As OilPrice reports, citing the Saudi Press Agency, a spokesperson for the Ministry of Energy said that several energy sector facilities and installations in the southern part of the kingdom were attacked in the morning.
Saudi authorities said that specialized teams had begun containing the fires, securing the facilities, and assessing the damage caused. The authorities also announced measures to ensure personnel safety and continuity of operations in accordance with approved operational plans.

Risks for the oil market
According to OilPrice, the Saudi Aramco oil refinery in Jizan on the Red Sea coast was attacked the previous day, on Monday. Its capacity is 400,000 barrels per day. The publication notes that this refinery has repeatedly been targeted in attacks since July.
Against the backdrop of risks to energy infrastructure, oil prices approached the $100-per-barrel mark. During Asian trading on Tuesday, Brent stood at $98.70 per barrel, while WTI rose by 2.89% to $94.12.
