China’s carbon market trading volume exceeded 900 million tonnes — ECNS

As of the end of August 2026, the cumulative transaction volume on China’s national carbon emissions trading market exceeded 900 million metric tonnes. The total transaction value amounted to more than 60 billion yuan, or about $8.9 billion. These data are presented in the 2026 National Report on the Development of China’s Carbon Market, ECNS reports.

Conference in Wuhan

The report was presented on September 15 during the China Carbon Market Conference in Wuhan, Hubei Province. The event took place on Tuesday. Wuhan is located in China’s Hubei Province.
