Nigeria press release claims more stable electricity supply in Apete
A press release published by Premium Times Nigeria claimed improvements in electricity supply in Apete and Adegbayi in Nigeria. The authors referred to social media posts by residents who reported prolonged electricity availability.
One Apete resident wrote that there was so much electricity that it could be switched off, while food in the freezer had frozen completely. An Instagram user said that electricity was not being switched off in Adegbayi. Another poster claimed that electricity was available in Apete for 23 hours and 45 minutes.
Claims about business
The press release claims that more stable electricity supply reduces costs for small businesses, including hair salons, tailoring workshops, cold storage operators and digital hubs. The authors linked this to a reduced need for diesel fuel for generators.

The material also stated that manufacturing and commercial businesses had received more predictable operating conditions. These claims are presented as assessments by the press release authors and feedback from individual social media users: the publication contains no statistics on electricity supply volumes, the number of consumers or business savings.
Energy sector
Energy Minister Joseph Tegbe, quoted by the press release, said that the sector's problems were related not only to technical issues but also to management and the implementation of decisions. According to him, the ministry coordinated the work of the electricity generation, transmission and distribution sectors.
The authors also claimed the restoration of idle generating assets, an expansion of grid capacity and the resumption of operations at the 450 MW Alaoji power plant after a three-year interruption. The material states that the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission, NERC, strengthened oversight of consumer rights protection.
