Ukrenergo reported where the most extensive power outages caused by shelling were recorded
Due to new Russian attacks, the most critical situation regarding electricity supply as of the morning of July 3 remains in the Donetsk region. Emergency power outages have also been reported in four other regions of Ukraine.
“As a result of enemy shelling, the situation in Donetsk Oblast is the most critical as of this morning. Due to damage to the power infrastructure there, that region has the highest number of new power outages. There are also consumers without power in the Kharkiv, Chernihiv, Zaporizhzhia, and Kherson regions,” the statement reads.
It is noted that power companies have begun restoration work wherever the security situation permits.
As of 9:30 a.m. on Friday, electricity consumption was 7.9% higher than the previous day. Ukrenergo attributes this to cloudy and rainy weather in parts of the western and central regions, which reduces the efficiency of residential solar power plants.
“It is advisable to postpone the use of high-power electrical appliances today until the period when industrial solar power plants operate most efficiently—from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. In the evening, from 4:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., it will still be necessary to conserve energy. Please limit your use of high-power appliances during this time,” warns the power system operator.
