Due to attacks by the Russian Federation and severe weather, consumers in nine regions were left without power
On July 15, power outages were reported in nine regions of Ukraine. Some consumers were left without power due to Russian attacks, while dozens of other communities lost power as a result of severe weather.
“As a result of hostilities and shelling of energy facilities, some consumers in the Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhzhia, Sumy, and Kharkiv regions are temporarily without power,” the statement said.
As noted, utility workers are working to restore power to Ukrainian homes as quickly as possible. Restoration work is ongoing around the clock.
“Due to severe weather, more than 50 settlements in the Dnipropetrovsk, Cherkasy, Kyiv, Kirovohrad, Mykolaiv, Ternopil, and Sumy regions remain without power,” the statement said.
Repair crews are working on the restoration.
“No power restrictions are expected today. It is recommended to shift peak electricity consumption to daytime hours—from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.,” the Ministry of Energy noted.
According to Ukrenergo, electricity consumption has increased. Today, July 15, as of 9:30 a.m., it was 3.4% higher than at the same time the previous day—Tuesday. This was due to rising air temperatures, which have led consumers to use air conditioners more frequently.
Yesterday, July 14, the daily peak in consumption was recorded during the day. It was 3.4% higher than the peak of the previous day—Monday, July 13. The reason was the intensifying heatwave in most regions of Ukraine, according to the Ministry of Energy.
Earlier, more than 32,000 customers in Zaporizhzhia were left without power following attacks by the Russian Federation.
As a reminder, on the night of July 8, strike drones of the Ukrainian Defense Forces struck a military airfield in Borisoglebsk, Voronezh Oblast, Russia. This airbase is home to aircraft of the Russian Aerospace Forces, which are used for both combat and training missions.
Over the past 24 hours, the Ukrainian Armed Forces have reduced the Russian army’s ranks by another 1,260 soldiers. The General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces released updated data on enemy losses as of July 8, also reporting the destruction of a significant amount of enemy equipment.
