Enemy shelling and severe weather have caused power outages in parts of six regions of Ukraine
Enemy attacks have left parts of six regions without power, while inclement weather has affected one; no rolling blackouts are expected, but residents should conserve energy during the evening peak consumption hours, the Ministry of Energy reported on Friday.
“As a result of hostilities and shelling of energy facilities, some consumers in the Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhzhia, Odesa, Kharkiv, Poltava, and Kherson regions are temporarily without power,” the Ministry of Energy reported.
Energy officials are doing everything possible to restore power to all customers as quickly as possible. Restoration work is ongoing around the clock, the ministry noted.
“Due to severe weather, two settlements in the Poltava region remain without power,” the statement said.
Repair crews are working on the restoration.
“No power restrictions are expected today,” the Ministry of Energy stated.
However, consumers are advised to shift their peak electricity usage to daytime hours today—from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
“In the evening hours, we ask consumers to use electricity sparingly, if possible, from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. This helps reduce the load on the system,” the ministry noted.
As a reminder, Ukrenergo has warned of possible prolonged power outages this summer.
