Number of active crypto users worldwide estimated between 40 and 70 million
According to analysis by a16z, out of 716 million global cryptocurrency owners, only 40 to 70 million actively perform on-chain transactions monthly, reflecting actual user activity.
Additionally, there are 181 million active crypto wallet addresses monthly, but this figure does not necessarily represent unique users making transactions. These insights highlight that mass adoption of cryptocurrencies is still forthcoming despite a large number of owners.
This indicates significant growth potential remains in the cryptocurrency market both in user base and deeper integration into everyday financial activities.
