Bank of Russia plans investor bloggers registry with mandatory content labeling
The Bank of Russia intends to create a registry of investor bloggers and require mandatory labeling of their financial content. Inclusion in the register will require relevant education or analyst certification, financial industry experience, membership in a self-regulatory organisation (SRO), and a clean disciplinary record.
Only bloggers from the official registry will be allowed to advertise financial services, with both bloggers and advertisers held accountable for any violations. This initiative aims to increase transparency and reliability in the investment information market.
This measure could significantly impact investor bloggers’ activities in Russia by limiting non-qualified advertising content and enhancing trust among investors.
