Changpeng Zhao attends US crypto summit for the first time after imprisonment

Binance founder Changpeng Zhao arrived in the United States for the first time since serving a four-month prison sentence and took part in the World Liberty Financial crypto summit held at former President Donald Trump's residence. This event attracted considerable attention due to previous fines imposed on Binance and the presidential pardon granted to Zhao.

Previously, Binance admitted to violations in the US and paid a $3.4 billion fine, while Zhao personally paid $50 million and served four months in prison. In 2025, Donald Trump granted him a pardon. Media reports suggested potential links between WLFI and Binance in launching the USD1 stablecoin, but both parties have denied these claims.

The summit was also attended by representatives of major banks, exchanges, and regulators, highlighting growing interest in the cryptocurrency sector and efforts to integrate it with the traditional financial system.
