The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has launched an investigation after discovering malware embedded in several games on the Steam platform, which was used to steal cryptocurrency-related data.
According to investigators, suspected projects include BlockBlasters, Chemia, Dashverse, DashFPS, Lampy, Lunara, PirateFi, and Tokenova. Some of these games have already been removed from the platform after malicious code was identified.
The FBI warns that the malware may have been used to collect sensitive user information, including access credentials to crypto wallets. Users who downloaded these games are advised to check their devices for potential compromise.
The agency also urges affected users to report incidents, which could assist the investigation and help prevent further cyberattacks.
