Marshall Islands launches world-first universal basic income paid in cryptocurrency
The government of the Marshall Islands has launched the world’s first universal basic income program with payments made in stablecoins. Every citizen will receive $200 quarterly, either via bank transfer, cheque, or through a digital wallet operated by the state. The country has a population of around 42,000 people.
