Ukraine is set to receive $690 million from the IMF in the coming days
Ukraine is expecting to receive approximately $690 million from the International Monetary Fund. The funds are expected to arrive in the coming days.
“The IMF Executive Board has completed the first review of the new program for Ukraine under the Extended Fund Facility. This paves the way for Ukraine to receive approximately $690 million from the IMF in the coming days. After that, the total amount of financing provided to Ukraine under the new EFF program will amount to approximately $2.2 billion,” said Prime Minister Serhiy Koretskyi.
He emphasized that all quantitative performance criteria and indicative targets of the program had been met as of the end of March.
As part of the review, updated timelines for implementing structural reforms and measures for the program’s continued implementation were agreed upon.
“The government is committed to accelerating the implementation of the agreed-upon reforms necessary to ensure access to external financing, strengthen financial stability, and create the right conditions for recovery, long-term economic growth, and Ukraine’s accession to the European Union,” Koretsky emphasized.
As a reminder, Zelenskyy may replace Syrskyy with Drapato as commander of the Joint Forces.
Earlier, Zelenskyy met with commanders of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
On July 20, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a meeting with the Secretary of State of the Holy See, Archbishop Paul Richard Gallagher. The parties discussed support for Ukraine, the Church’s activities, peace initiatives, and the country’s European integration.
