Suspect arrested in $7 million currency exchange robbery in Hong Kong

A suspect has been apprehended in Hong Kong following a $7 million robbery at a currency exchange office. The incident occurred in the Sanwan district when two employees were transporting cash to an HSBC bank branch.

According to reports, three men, two of whom were armed with knives, attacked the employees near their vehicle, seizing four suitcases filled with cash equivalent to 1 billion Japanese yen (approximately $7 million) before fleeing the scene. Later that day, police arrested a suspect in the same area carrying a bag containing a large sum of money. The suspect is currently in custody on robbery charges, while the investigation continues as authorities seek other participants involved in the attack.

Authorities are expected to release further details soon and are actively working to apprehend the remaining suspects.
