The Cabinet of Ministers cut 2.7 billion hryvnia from the Health Screening Program

The Cabinet of Ministers has cut funding for the “Health Screening for Disease Prevention” program by 2.71 billion hryvnia. The funds were reallocated to other areas of the healthcare system.

In total, the government reallocated nearly 2.8 billion hryvnias in expenditures for the Ministry of Health that had been allocated in the 2026 state budget. In addition to screening, funding for national institutions and initiatives in the field of medical education was cut by 54.2 million hryvnias.

The largest portion of the freed-up funds—2.5 billion hryvnias—was additionally allocated to the program of state guarantees for medical care for the population.

Another 100 million hryvnias was allocated for specific medical services for certain categories of citizens, and 161.7 million hryvnias was allocated for the training and professional development of medical personnel.

The government adopted the corresponding decision on September 30.
