Doctors at St. Nicholas Hospital in Lviv saved a 3-year-old boy who suffered burns over 70% of his body following an accident involving boiling water.

This was reported by the medical facility.

The boy accidentally knocked over a pot of boiling water and was admitted to the hospital in critical condition.

The fight for his life lasted two and a half months. During this time, the child spent two weeks in intensive care, underwent 12 skin graft surgeries, received blood transfusions, and underwent prolonged treatment.

Thanks to the efforts of intensive care specialists and burn surgeons, the boy’s condition was stabilized. He has now returned home to his family and celebrated his third birthday.

Chinese surgeons performed the first-ever ear-to-foot transplant on a patient following a workplace injury.

In the United States, the first patient to receive a pig kidney transplant has died.
