Suicide deaths rise in Ghana — MyJoyOnline
In Ghana, 175 deaths by suicide and about 1,173 attempts were recorded during the first six months of 2025. MyJoyOnline reported this, citing data from the Mental Health Authority.
Figures over two years
During the first half of 2024, official data showed that 134 deaths by suicide and more than 1,170 attempts were recorded in the country. Therefore, the number of recorded deaths in the corresponding period of 2025 increased by 41 cases.
Health authorities said that among the people covered by these data, there were more men than women. Most of the registered individuals were aged between 15 and 29.
