Apple boosts personal computer shipments by 16.4% in 2025
Last year, Apple shipped approximately 28 million personal computers, marking a 16.4% increase compared to 2024. This growth rate outpaced Lenovo’s 14.6% increase, although Lenovo maintained its position as the global leader in total PC sales.
According to analysts at Omdia, the main driver behind Apple’s shipment growth was a surge in demand for the MacBook Air, which became more affordable after a $100 price reduction. This made the model more attractive to consumers and supported higher sales volumes.
This trend indicates a strengthening of Apple’s position in the PC market and suggests intensifying competition among laptop manufacturers, especially in the more affordable device segment.
