The State Statistics Service has calculated how much the average salary in Ukraine has increased
In May 2026, the average salary of full-time employees in Ukraine rose by 1.5% compared to April, reaching 30,961 thousand UAH.
Kyiv traditionally remains the leader in terms of income, with an average of 47,115 thousand UAH, while the lowest wages were recorded in the Kirovohrad region—22,336 thousand UAH. At the same time, wage arrears in the country increased by 100 million hryvnias, totaling 3.8 billion hryvnias as of early June. Data from the State Statistics Service traditionally excludes territories temporarily occupied by the Russian Federation and areas of active hostilities.
By profession, the highest salaries are observed in the IT sector and telecommunications (76,997 thousand hryvnias), as well as in the financial sector (64,349 thousand hryvnias). Educators earn the lowest average salary—21,122 thousand UAH. At the same time, consumer inflation slowed to 8.2% year-over-year in May. The National Bank of Ukraine forecasts that labor shortages and increased business costs will continue to push wages upward, although this will create additional inflationary pressure toward the end of the year.
