Douyin tightens rules for financial influencers
Short-video platform Douyin, the Chinese version of TikTok, has introduced pilot rules requiring creators who post financial content to verify their professional qualifications before publishing. These measures aim to reduce risks for individual investors amid growing interest in trading.

The new rules prohibit making price predictions for individual stocks, fueling market hype, and offering "illegal recommendations," including selling courses and inviting users to closed chat groups. Creators are also barred from promising “guaranteed profits” or “low risk with high returns.”
To publish professional financial content, creators must confirm their education and employment, and such verified accounts will receive a special badge. This approach is expected to enhance audience trust and promote more responsible financial advice.
