Stefano Gabbana has stepped down as creative director at Dolce & Gabbana
Stefano Gabbana, 63, quietly stepped down as director of Dolce & Gabbana at the end of 2025, but promises to retain his creative role at the company. Since January, the board of directors of the Italian luxury brand has been led by Domenico Dolce’s brother, Alfonso, the current CEO.
Dolce & Gabbana stated that Gabbana’s departure from this position is due to “the natural evolution of the company’s organizational structure and management system.”
It is also reported that Gabbana is considering options for selling his 40% stake in the company ahead of negotiations with creditor banks. A D&G representative stated: “As for the long-term situation, the group cannot make any statements at this time, as negotiations with the banks are still ongoing.”
Stefano Gabbana and Domenico Dolce founded the Italian luxury fashion brand Dolce & Gabbana in 1985. D&G built its reputation on Dolce’s Sicilian roots and a unique sense of glamour, thanks to which A-list stars such as Madonna and Monica Bellucci have continued to choose this brand for four decades now.
