Japanese company Toto halts orders amid supply chain disruptions caused by Iran conflict

Japanese toilet manufacturer Toto has temporarily stopped accepting new orders due to a shortage of materials triggered by the ongoing conflict with Iran, which disrupted its supply chains. This development caused the company’s shares to drop by 7.2%.

A Toto representative told Bloomberg that business partners were notified about the temporary halt in production affecting modular bathroom units, and the company has not yet announced when it will resume operations.

The war with Iran has added strain to global supply chains, impacting the availability of critical materials needed for Toto's plumbing products.

Toto is one of the world’s leading producers of innovative sanitary ware, renowned primarily for its high-tech toilets and plumbing solutions widely used in both residential and commercial settings.

This case highlights how geopolitical conflicts can significantly disrupt international production chains, leading to supply shortfalls for end consumers.

It is expected that Toto will seek alternative sourcing options to mitigate impact and resume production as soon as the situation stabilizes.
