The Cabinet of Ministers has summarized the results of the fuel cashback program
The fuel cashback program ended on May 31. It was used by 2.3 million Ukrainians, most of whom are owners of economy-class cars.
This initiative was introduced as a temporary anti-crisis measure to provide financial support to the population during a massive global oil crisis, which became one of the largest in the last half-century. The program ran from March 20 to May 31, as reported by First Deputy Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko.
Thanks to state support, consumers were able to save between 5% and 15% on fuel costs, depending on the specific type of fuel. Statistics show that 91% of all program participants were owners of economy-class cars with small-displacement engines, confirming the project’s social focus. In addition, during the initiative’s run, citizens opened approximately 500,000 new National Cashback cards, which, according to government estimates, provided an additional boost to the development of domestic digital services and the banking system.
Citizens can spend the funds accumulated during this period on a wide range of essential needs. The financial bonuses received may be used to pay for housing and utility services, purchase medications, books, and any other goods produced exclusively in Ukraine. Ukrainians also have the option to donate this money to charity or directly to support the financial needs of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
