Latvia updates list of companies trading with Russia and Belarus — LSM English
On 17 September, Latvia's Central Statistical Bureau released an updated list of companies registered in the country that export goods to Russia, the aggressor state, or Belarus, or import them from these countries. The list includes data for August, LSM English reports.
August data
The August list includes 159 companies. By comparison, the July list covered 170 companies, which also remain on the list.
The Central Statistical Bureau plans to release the next update with data for September in October, approximately in the third week of the month. The State Revenue Service prepares the data for the list, while the Central Statistical Bureau publishes it.

The publication of such lists is provided for by amendments to the law on support for Ukraine's civilian population adopted by the Latvian Saeima.
Trade outside sanctions
The list does not include companies that violate international sanctions, but enterprises trading in goods not covered by restrictions, including food and medicines. Latvia is discussing a possible expansion of sanctions to food products, which could cover, in particular, grain exported by Russia from the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine. Such restrictions have not yet been introduced.
Among the companies listed are the Eastern European division of French beverage producer Pernod Ricard, pharmaceutical company Grindex, and underwear manufacturer Lauma. In an accompanying document, businesses may comment on their ties with Russia and Belarus. Several companies stated that they have no such ties and should not be included on the list.
