McDonald's opens locations in every province of mainland China
McDonald's has officially opened its first restaurants in Yinchuan, Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, and Xining, Qinghai Province, thereby establishing a presence in every provincial-level region of mainland China. This marks the American fast-food chain's complete geographic coverage across the country.
Currently, there are over 7,500 McDonald's restaurants operating in mainland China, employing more than 200,000 people. The first McDonald's in mainland China opened in 1990 in Shenzhen, Guangdong Province.
This milestone highlights McDonald's long-term expansion in China and reflects the growing demand for international fast food even in the country's more remote regions.
