Russia has begun restricting gasoline sales: the fuel crisis has started again in Crimea

Restrictions on gasoline sales have been imposed in the temporarily occupied city of Sevastopol due to fuel supply issues following strikes on Russian oil refineries. Russian Telegram channels reported this on May 22.

According to the occupying “governor” Mikhail Razvozhayev, gasoline sales at TES gas stations have been limited to 20 liters per customer. Similar problems have also been reported in other regions of the Russian Federation, particularly in Ryazan.

Details. Razvozhayev explained the measures as being due to “logistical difficulties, the causes of which are known.” According to him, TES gas stations in the city currently only have AI-92 gasoline. Authorities expect deliveries of AI-95 and diesel fuel by evening, but diesel will only be sold with ration coupons.

At gas stations in another network—ATAN—fuel “is available... but not at all stations,” Razvozhayev said.

Quote: “To avoid a rush, as happened last time, we are implementing a measure that has already proven effective: fuel sales at TES network gas stations will be limited to 20 liters per car or per canister until the situation stabilizes,” the city’s head wrote.

Razvozhayev also asked people to “treat the situation with understanding” and “not create artificial panic.” There are 22 TES network gas stations in Sevastopol.

There are also fuel shortages at gas stations in other regions. For example, motorists in Ryazan are complaining about a lack of gasoline. However, authorities in other regions have not reported any restrictions on fuel sales.
