Transport Minister Tsolaki visits terminal in Limassol — Cyprus Mail
Cyprus’ Minister of Transport, Communications and Works, Evantia Tsolaki, visited the Eurogate Container Terminal Limassol at the port of Limassol. During a meeting with the company’s management, the parties discussed issues affecting the country’s maritime trade sector, Cyprus Mail reports.
Introductory meeting
The visit took place after Tsolaki assumed leadership of the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Works in August and was introductory in nature. She was accompanied by office director Elena Theodoulou, the ministry’s representative on the ports concession agreement, Chrysalla Solomidou, and acting director of the Public Works Department Stelios Zervos.
Eurogate CTL Chief Operating Officer Alexandros Demetriades briefed the minister on current issues faced by the company, as well as on the operation of the container terminal.

Terminal infrastructure
Following the meeting, Tsolaki inspected Eurogate’s facilities. She was presented with investments in modernising the terminal’s infrastructure, as well as ongoing projects to expand its site and establish additional storage areas.
The minister assured the company’s management of continued cooperation and said that additional meetings would soon be scheduled to discuss port industry issues in greater detail. Demetriades thanked her for the visit, wished her success in her new position and expressed satisfaction with the continued interaction between Eurogate and the ministry.
Eurogate Container Terminal Limassol Ltd is the operator of the container terminal at the port of Limassol and employs 200 people in Cyprus.
