Amid suspicions regarding Yermak, Getmantsev made an ambiguous statement regarding Play City's subordination
The chairman of the Verkhovna Rada's Finance Committee commented on the situation surrounding the Play City platform, which has been transferred to the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine.
Getmantsev wrote about this in a Telegram post.
“I cannot help but welcome the Cabinet’s decision to transfer the infamous Play City from the infamous Ministry of Digital Transformation directly to the Cabinet. Undoubtedly, we cannot stop here, and this is only the first step in bringing the market out of the apocalyptic state to which it was driven by the self-proclaimed presidential candidate and his haphazard, temporary team of digital gurus,” Getmantsev stated.
Previously, PlayCity was granted the authority to inspect gambling operators. The regulator will be able to conduct scheduled and unscheduled inspections, and players and bloggers now know what they will be monitored for. Over the past six months, these inspections have already resulted in fines totaling tens of millions of hryvnias.
The state agency "PlayCity" blocked more than 2,500 illegal online casino sites in 2025.
