Nexon reported record financial results for the first half of the year
The gaming company Nexon reported record financial results for the first half of the year, thanks to the growth of the MapleStory franchise and the success of ARC Raiders in Western markets. The company’s revenue reached 2.56 trillion won, or $1.8 billion, up 17% from a year earlier, according to the Korea Herald.
Nexon’s operating profit for the six-month period rose 13% to 838 billion won. Net profit more than doubled to 814 billion won.
In the second quarter, the company’s revenue reached 1.14 trillion won, operating profit was 294.3 billion won, and net profit was 278.8 billion won. All three figures exceeded the company’s previously announced guidance.

Nexon noted that the MapleStory franchise remained the key driver of growth. The original PC version of the game performed strongly in South Korea, North America, and Europe. The mobile game MapleStory: Idle RPG also maintained stable performance in the second quarter in North America, Europe, and Southeast Asia. Quarterly revenue for the entire MapleStory franchise reached a record high, though the company did not disclose the exact figure.
The multiplayer third-person shooter ARC Raiders also contributed to Nexon’s growth in Western markets. According to the company, nine months after its launch, the game’s total sales exceeded 16.3 million.
Nexon’s total overseas revenue reached a record high: in Western markets, it more than tripled in the first half of the year, while in Southeast Asia and other regions, it grew by 76%. Nexon CEO Lee Jeong-hoon stated that in the second half of the year, the company plans to expand its game portfolio and roll out major updates for key projects.
