Three 22-year-old friends become youngest self-made billionaires, breaking Zuckerberg’s record
Three 22-year-olds — Brendan Foody, Adarsh Hiremat, and Surya Midha — became the youngest self-made billionaires in the world, surpassing Mark Zuckerberg, who first appeared on Forbes’s list at age 23. Their AI-driven hiring startup Mergor raised $350 million in funding and achieved a $10 billion valuation.
Mergor connects engineers from India with American companies seeking remote developers. Later, the company began assisting top AI labs in Silicon Valley by recruiting specialists to train models. According to Forbes, Mergor’s annual revenue surged from $100 million in spring to $500 million in autumn 2025.
All three grew up in the San Jose area of California and have been friends since school. Two of them come from Indian families. Adarsh Hiremat studied macroeconomics at Harvard under Larry Summers but dropped out to pursue the startup and became a Peter Thiel Foundation fellow.
