The court ordered Grigorishin's Ukrrichflot to pay for the electricity it consumed
The Kyiv Commercial Court granted the claim filed by Enera Kyiv LLC against PJSC “Ukrrichflot Shipping Company” and ordered the defendant to pay more than 523,000 hryvnias.
The amount includes 513,300 hryvnias in principal debt for electricity consumed from December 2025 to February 2026, as well as 3% annual interest, inflation-related losses, and court fees.
Representatives of businessman Kostyantyn Hryhoryshyn’s company attempted to cite force majeure circumstances due to the war, the loss of assets, the destruction of the Kakhovka Hydroelectric Power Plant, and the shutdown of the lock. However, the court rejected these arguments, noting that martial law does not automatically exempt a party from its obligations. Furthermore, the contract itself was signed as early as late 2025, so the company knowingly assumed the corresponding financial risks.
