UPG Explained the Limit on Fuel Sales to a Single Buyer
The UPG gas station chain has temporarily limited fuel sales to 250 liters per customer due to high demand. According to Dmytro Petrenko, Director of Development for the UPG Group of Companies, this decision is necessary to ensure that as many customers as possible have access to fuel.
The key challenges facing the fuel market right now are the physical availability of fuel and the speed of its delivery. Supplies are being affected by the shallowing of the Danube, security restrictions, attacks on shipping in the Black Sea, and tensions in the global petroleum products market.
As the gap between wholesale and retail prices has narrowed, it has become more profitable to buy fuel at gas stations than in bulk, prompting other gas station chains to impose limits ranging from 50 to 100 liters per customer.
