Greenhouse tomatoes have become significantly cheaper in Ukraine
In Ukraine, wholesale prices for greenhouse tomatoes have fallen to 30–60 UAH/kg (0.67–1.34 USD/kg), which is, on average, 25% lower than during the same period last year.
The price decline is due to stabilized weather conditions and an increase in the harvest of field-grown vegetables across all regions. In the last working week alone, prices dropped by 27% due to low demand and a decline in product quality—part of the harvest suffered sunburn and cracks as a result of drought and heat, which impaired its marketability.

Blueberries in Ukraine are currently significantly more expensive than they were at the height of the season. According to berry market expert Denis Mironov, the reason is simple: Ukrainian blueberries have not yet hit the market in large quantities, and imported products dominate stores and markets. Once the active harvest of domestic blueberries begins, prices are expected to drop significantly.
Young Ukrainian potatoes continue to get cheaper. In just over a week, their average price has halved—from 30 to 15 hryvnias per kilogram.
In early July, prices for seasonal fruits and berries changed in Ukraine. Strawberries and cherries saw the biggest price increases over the past week, while apples, bananas, oranges, and lemons are selling for nearly the same prices.
