New modular grain storage facilities for the agricultural market were tested in Ukraine
Kernel has tested a new type of modular grain storage unit from a Ukrainian manufacturer, which allows for the rapid deployment of additional storage capacity for agricultural products within a few days.
The first such structure was assembled in four days and filled with 3,400 metric tons of grain. According to Serhiy Shcherban, head of the company’s storage department, Kernel has purchased these storage units, which will collectively increase its storage capacity by 40,000 metric tons.
The additional capacity will be used not only for the company’s own harvest but will also be made available to other agricultural producers. The new solution holds 3.5 times more grain than polymer sleeves covering the same area, is reusable, and is less dependent on weather conditions. The manufacturer and installation locations are not being disclosed for security reasons.
