Marina Square mall in Singapore to close in March 2027 for redevelopment
Marina Square shopping mall in Singapore will close on March 31, 2027, as part of the complex’s redevelopment. Channel NewsAsia reports, citing developer Singapore Land Group (SingLand). The project is expected to be completed by 2031.
During construction work, the complex’s three hotels — Pan Pacific Singapore, Parkroyal Collection Marina Bay and Mandarin Oriental Singapore — will remain operational. The developer said it is working with stakeholders to minimize inconvenience and maintain access to the hotels.
New towers and hotel
The 9.2-hectare complex is planned to integrate three new towers with the existing hotels. A 49-story residential tower, more than 190 meters high, is set to house 204 luxury residences: three- to five-bedroom apartments and penthouses.
A 19-story mixed-use building will include a 304-room hotel and approximately 13,000 square meters of Grade A office space. The hotel will be located on the fourth through 10th floors, while offices will occupy floors 12 to 19. A 24-story serviced-apartment building is planned to contain 260 residences overlooking Marina Bay and Bay East Garden.

Shopping mall upgrade
The four-story Marina Square will be upgraded under a modernization program covering more than 76,000 square meters of gross floor area. The new tenant mix will include more food and beverage establishments, as well as sports, wellness and lifestyle concepts. Green and pet-friendly areas are also planned within the complex.
The project provides for improved pedestrian connections, including a covered walkway and an elevated landscaped loop linking the complex with One Raffles Link, Millenia Walk, Suntec City and the future NS Square. A 6,500-square-meter public park with greenery, play areas and event spaces will be created above the Stamford Canal.
Public spaces
More than 4,000 square meters of privately owned public space will have a direct connection to NS Square. A 700-square-meter event venue, The Cube, is planned along Raffles Boulevard, while a 300-square-meter central atrium, The Oculus, will be located in the shopping mall.
SingLand CEO Jonathan Eu said the redevelopment is intended to transform Marina Square into a more connected and attractive space combining housing, workplaces, hotels, retail, sports, wellness, arts and cultural spaces.
