Trump’s childhood home in the US sold for $1.93 million — Fortune
In the Jamaica Estates neighborhood of Queens, New York, US, the house where President Donald Trump lived until the age of four has been sold. The deal was worth $1.93 million. Information about the sale appeared on real estate websites after an undisclosed buyer signed a contract in July.
Fortune reports, citing the Associated Press. The Tudor-style house has five bedrooms and three bathrooms. It was built in 1940 by Trump’s father, developer Fred Trump. The Trump family has not owned the property for a long time.
Renovation after neglect
The previous owner, developer Tommy Lin, bought the house last year for $835,000. At the time, the building had stood empty and neglected for years. According to the New York Post, Lin spent another $500,000 on an eight-month interior renovation.

During the reconstruction, the house was fitted with a chef’s kitchen, herringbone wood flooring and spa-style bathrooms. Before the sale, the building had suffered water damage from a burst pipe and had mold problems. As the outlet wrote, a colony of feral cats had settled in the home.
Previous deals
The house changed owners several times in recent years. According to Zillow, it was sold for $2.14 million several months after Trump took office as president in 2017.
The buyer at the time was Trump Birth Home LLC. The property was briefly offered for rent through Airbnb: the house featured a life-size cardboard cutout of Trump, copies of his book “The Art of the Deal,” and a framed cover of People magazine featuring his image. In 2019, the house was put up for sale again for $2.9 million, but no buyer was found then.
