Cyprus took the top four spots in the autumn holiday ranking — Cyprus Mail

Cyprus took all of the top four positions in the ranking of European destinations for holidays in October and November. Ayia Napa came first, followed by Limassol, Larnaca and Paphos.

Weather and flight costs were assessed

As Cyprus Mail reports, the ranking was compiled by British travel company Solmar Villas. It assessed 105 European destinations based on air temperature, the likelihood of precipitation and airfare costs during the final two months of autumn.

During this period, temperatures on the island usually range from 24 to 29 degrees Celsius. In Ayia Napa, from September through November, an average of only 2.3 rainy days per month is recorded.

Resort characteristics

Israeli website Walla noted that after the end of the summer season, Ayia Napa becomes much quieter and more peaceful. Limassol was presented as a destination combining beach and city holidays, Larnaca as an option for a leisurely trip, and Paphos as a city with historical and archaeological landmarks.

Walla also drew attention to Cyprus's proximity to Israel: a flight from Tel Aviv takes about 40 minutes. Solmar Villas specializes in holiday villas and accommodation rentals and offers more than 2,500 properties in at least 40 destinations. The company, registered in England, is now part of DERTOUR UK.
