Rosewood Hong Kong tops The 50 Best Hotels 2026 in Paris for the second time
In Paris, France, on September 15, the results of The 50 Best Hotels 2026 ranking were announced, with Rosewood Hong Kong taking first place for the second consecutive year. According to Channel NewsAsia, it is the first hotel to retain the lead since the ranking was launched in 2023. The ceremony took place at Les Salles du Carrousel and was the first to be held in another city after the three previous award ceremonies in London.
Capella Bangkok took second place, rising by one position. Four Seasons Hotel Bangkok at Chao Phraya River came third. The top five also included Atlantis The Royal in Dubai and Passalacqua on Lake Como in Italy. Passalacqua, the ranking's first winner in 2023, also received awards for Best Hotel in Europe and Best Boutique Hotel.
Asian hotels in the ranking
The Upper House Hong Kong ranked eighth, while Mandarin Oriental Bangkok placed tenth. Aman Tokyo received 11th place, Bulgari Tokyo 24th, Patina Osaka 33rd, and Park Hyatt Kyoto 37th. Patina Osaka also won the Nikka Best New Hotel Award.
Raffles Singapore ranked 17th and remained the only representative of Singapore in the main list of 50 hotels. Capella Singapore entered the extended ranking at 97th place. Aman Nai Lert in Bangkok placed 48th, while The Peninsula Hong Kong ranked 46th.

European and special awards
The ranking covered 22 territories across six continents. Europe surpassed Asia this year in the number of hotels in the top 50, with 21 European hotels included on the list. Italy and France were represented by six properties each, while the United Kingdom had four.
Casa Maria Luigia in Modena, which ranked 18th, received the award for the highest-ranked new entry. Hotel du Couvent in Nice received the Johnnie Walker Art of Design Award, while Badrutt’s Palace in St. Moritz, Switzerland, received the SeiBellissimi Art of Hospitality Award. The Rosewood Hotels & Resorts hotel group received the Ferrari Trento Most Admired Hotel Group Award. Rosewood São Paulo ranked seventh and was named the best hotel in South America.
The winners are determined by an anonymous academy comprising more than 800 travelers, hoteliers, academics, and journalists from different countries. The ranking does not use a fixed set of assessment criteria.
