Volaris to launch five routes from Guadalajara to the US, Aeroméxico to Paris
In Guadalajara, Mexico, airline Volaris will launch five direct routes to the United States in October — to Atlanta, Washington Dulles Airport, Boston, Raleigh-Durham and Nashville. This was reported by Mexico News Daily, citing statements by Jalisco Governor Pablo Lemus and Volaris Executive Vice President Holger Blankenstein.
Flights to five US cities
Service to Atlanta and Washington Dulles Airport is set to begin on October 2. Flights to Boston, Raleigh-Durham and Nashville are scheduled to start on October 15.
Volaris will fly to Washington, Nashville and Raleigh-Durham three times a week, and to Atlanta and Boston four times a week. After the launch of the new routes, the number of destinations from Guadalajara International Airport is expected to increase to 71, while the total number of flights is expected to exceed 100 per day.
Jalisco Tourism Minister Michelle Fridman Hirsch said the new flights would expand opportunities for direct connections with one of the state's main international markets. Guadalajara representatives also emphasized opportunities for commercial, cultural and tourism exchanges with the United States.

Direct connection with Paris
Separately, Aeroméxico plans to open a direct route between Guadalajara and Paris on April 13, 2027. The flights will operate three times a week using Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft, offering up to 800 seats per week in each direction.
Paris will become the second European destination with direct air service from Guadalajara after Madrid, where Aeroméxico has operated flights since December 2021. Airport administrator Christian Amador Lizardi noted that the new route demonstrates the region's capacity to support long-haul services.
Guadalajara Airport recently put its second runway into operation as part of a 22 billion peso development plan, or about $1.3 billion. Last year, the airport handled 18.7 million passengers, and from January through August this year it handled 12.9 million, up 4.8% from the same period in 2025.
