MP Zhupanin Resigns from Office

Andriy Zhupanin, a member of parliament from the Servant of the People party and deputy chair of the parliamentary committee on energy and housing and communal services, submitted a letter of resignation from his parliamentary seat.

Zhupanin confirmed this information and explained that his decision was motivated by a desire to apply the knowledge and experience he has gained in the energy sector in practice.

According to him, it is now important to help Ukraine prepare for the most challenging winter in its history.

Zhupanin was elected to the Verkhovna Rada in 2019 on the Servant of the People party list. He chaired the Subcommittee on Gas Policy and, since 2024, has served as Deputy Chair of the Committee on Energy and Housing and Communal Services.

The lawmaker is also the author of a number of energy-related bills aimed at Ukraine’s European integration. In December 2025, he was among the candidates for the position of Minister of Energy.

In 2024, Zhupanin earned a master’s degree in business management from the London Business School.

Prior to this, Bill No. 15431 was registered in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, which provides for a large-scale reform of the hunting industry, the digitization of the sector, and changes to hunting regulations. At the same time, the bill has already drawn sharp criticism from animal rights and environmental organizations, which are calling on members of parliament to reject it as early as the first reading.

As a reminder, the Verkhovna Rada prematurely terminated the mandates of MPs Denys Maslov and Vitaliy Bezgin, who were members of the “Servant of the People” faction. Parliament adopted the relevant resolutions during a plenary session on July 17.
