White House calls Truth Social the ‘most powerful and popular’ social network in the world

In the United States, the White House stated that the Truth Social platform, owned by Donald Trump, is the “most powerful and popular social network in the world.” White House spokesperson Davis Ingle conveyed this statement to The New York Times.

The White House’s explanation

As The Verge reports, Ingle explained the platform’s claimed popularity by President Trump’s “authentic voice.” According to him, Truth Social allows Trump to communicate directly with Americans and the world without biased media outlets that allegedly take his words out of context.

At the same time, the social media audience data cited in the publication do not support the White House’s claim. According to Search Engine Land, YouTube has 2.65 billion monthly active users worldwide, Facebook has 2.39 billion, TikTok has 2.21 billion, and Instagram has 1.99 billion.

Platform traffic

Truth Social was not included in the top 10 platforms in Search Engine Land’s list. Lower down the list are X with 450 million users and Threads with 223 million, while Pinterest has 579 million global users.

According to Similarweb data cited by The New York Times, the number of monthly visitors to Truth Social in July fell by 36% compared with the same month of the previous year. From January through July 2025, the platform was visited by an average of 28 million people per month, while in the first seven months of 2026 this figure declined to 25 million.

Last month, Truth Social launched a subscription costing $100,000 per month, which provides early access to posts by Trump and other prominent users.
